Falcon Solutions Recognized with the MD Ready Set Grow Award

Falcon Solutions is a bright example of how a small company makes Maryland a great place to grow a business. The company was founded 15 years ago by 2 combat veterans who first met at the VA Hospital in Baltimore. In the halls of that hospital, they shook hands and set out to make Falcon Solutions a business that would be built to last - perform with excellence and integrity - respect the unique talents of its’ employees - and help other struggling veterans transition to productive members of the communities where they lived.

In 2018, tragedy struck and one of the company’s founders succumbed to combat injuries received in Iraq. The company honors his memory and is committed to following his vision of performance excellence and helping others who needed a hand up.

Starting any new business is a struggle. With a lot of hard work - and some luck along the way - Falcon Solutions survived, grew and evolved. Today, more than 25% of its’ employees are individuals with disabilities - and its revenue streams are focused on building maintenance and security services. 

To advance the mission of helping disabled veterans, Falcon Solution’s principals formed a non-profit organization to provide information, training and mentoring for disabled veterans thinking about starting a business. The principals also set into motion two major initiatives that have helped our veteran-owned business community. The first initiative was a 4-year campaign to gain the support of elected officials in Annapolis to create State contracting goals for disabled veteran-owned businesses.  

Mr. Hirsch related how after years of fighting for the votes to pass a narrowly constructed bill to help veterans with service-connected disabilities, Governor O’Malley told him at a breakfast meeting that he thought he could convince key law makers on the merits of expanding the bill to include all veteran-owned businesses.  The Governor rounded up the votes in short order, the bill was redrafted and the “Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise” program became law. 

Falcon Solution is a shining example of how a small businesses in our State can make a significant contribution – and we are pleased today to recognize the successes and efforts of Falcon Solutions with this MD Ready, Set, Grow Award.
