For Immediate Release

On Friday, March 29, 2024 Daunte Jennings a transitioning student from Baltimore City Public Schools successfully completed his six month Chimes DC Internship at Thurgood Marshall BWI Airport and was presented with his Certificate of Achievement.  The certificate was presented to Mr. Jennings by Danny Huntley, Director, Office of Custodial Services at the Maryland Aviation Administration and Eric Brown, Assistant Project Manager for Chimes DC at BWI Airport.

Daunte expressed his gratitude for being allowed the opportunity to find meaningful employment. Daunte stated that he has had other jobs, but he felt like his previous employers did not totally understand him and unfortunately it did not workout. Daunte said he enjoys coming to work and appreciates the support he receives from his supervisors and would like to continue his employment at BWI Airport.

The Chimes DC Internship Program was implemented in 2022 to help cultivate a new workforce for people with different abilities, as well as, help graduating transitioning high school students (18-21 years of age) the opportunity to gain job skills training and full-time employment upon graduating.
