Maryland Works Summer Recap

MD Works’ Summer has been packed with change and setting the foundation for the road ahead. The team has seen transformation in staffing, embarked on an internal professional development journey, welcomed new members, and added new trainings. The organization is making an intentional effort to enhance services across the board. Let’s look back and recap since June.

  • Contract Coordinator Kay Cheung Retired
  • MD Works visited Employ Prince George’s (EPG) American Job Center at National Harbor. EPG joins as Provider Network Member.
  • Supervisory Bootcamp
  • DORS Report Writing for Community Rehab Providers
  • Employment Works Vendor Training
  • SSI/SSDI Benefits Training
  • DDA/DORS CEO Roundtable
  • MD Works hired 2 new Contract Coordinators

 

July

  • MD Works participated in MD Behavioral Health Coalition Meeting
  • Managing Up, Down, and Across Training
  • MD Works Anti-Stigma Training for internal staff
  • MD Works offered FREE Training for members: Networking to Get Noticed
  • MD Works began website redesign
  • ACRE Training
  • MD Works donated used PCs, monitors, and tech equipment to PCs for People
  • MD Works hired 1 new Contract Coordinator

 

August

  • MD Works participated in Maryland APSE Lunch with Leaders
  • MD Works began internal DEI campaign
  • TallSmall Launch Training for internal staff
  • Federal Hiring and Employment for Individuals with a Disability Training

We look forward to a full fall season as we explore new and enhanced member benefits, Employment Works Program opportunities, and the 13th Annual Employment Awards. Please remember we are accepting nominations for awards through 9/30. Let’s all close out the summer strong and safe!!!
