Greetings from Maryland Works' CEO, Mary Manzoni

Thank you for reading the Maryland Works June Newsletter!

During the month of June, we celebrate, honor and recognize Juneteenth, and freedom from slavery. We also recognize Pride when the world’s LGBTQ communities come together and celebrate the freedom to be themselves. Diversity is one thing we all have in common and it should be celebrated.

“Whether it’s freedom to express, freedom to live, freedom to earn, freedom to thrive, freedom to learn, whatever it is, I want to make sure that I’m a part of these spaces and opening doors.”—Angela Rye

“Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory, or an acceptance of the way things are. It’s a celebration of progress. It’s an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, change is possible—and there is still so much work to do.”    —Barack Obama

There are a lot of great things going on here at Maryland Works and we appreciate and value our Members’ partnership. We are expanding our trainings and have expanded our team. Be sure to check out the rest of the newsletter for upcoming events, resources, and to meet our new staff.

Please let us know what is going on in your organization/business so we can share with others. You can send your updates to
 marylandworksinc@mdworks.com.

On behalf of all of us at Maryland Works, we thank you for your leadership and support in advancing employment opportunities for professionals with  disabilities.
