Maryland Works Welcomes New Board Members

On behalf of the Maryland Works Board of Directors I would like to welcome and recognize our new Board Members. We are extremely excited to have them serve on the Board of Directors:
 

Haywood Evans, Executive Director with L.I.F.E. Inc. 
Mr. Evans has over 25 plus years in the human service industry. He has worked in nonprofit, county, and state government in various positions to include the Developmental Disabilities Administration in Central and Western Maryland.

 

Ed Hirsh, Chairman of Falcon Solutions
Mr. Hirsh has successfully started and grown companies owned by persons with disabilities and managed a not-for-profit organization (the Service-Disabled Veteran Association) that successfully advocated for legislation and programs that have helped the Service-Disabled Veteran business community in Maryland.  

 

Ryan Kules, Director of Combat Stress Recovery Program
Mr. Kules started working with Wounded Warrior Project in October of 2007 and helped start the organization’s 
Warriors to Work program and then transitioned to lead the Alumni program which focuses on engaging warriors and their families with the organization and each other. Mr. Kules currently oversees the operation of the Project Odyssey team which facilitates adventure-based programming focused on increasing resiliency and physiological wellbeing.

 

Ramenta Cottrell, Director of Housing and Humans for the City of Frederick

Ms. Cottrell has worked with various DDA providers in Baltimore, Howard, and Anne Arundel County, primarily providing day habilitation and vocational services for youth and adults as well as promoting self-direction services as a Support Broker. She has served the communities of Frederick and Carroll counties under the umbrella of Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley.  Ms. Cottrell continues to collaborate with nonprofit leaders statewide and has a special interest in supporting initiatives for vocational, adaptive, and educational supports for youth and adults with disabilities and believes that everyone, despite perceived disadvantages, can obtain their goals with the appropriate accommodations, motivation, and access to resources.
