General Description/Summary: Under the direction of the custodial supervisor the Custodial Worker independently cleans restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators/escalators, and other work areas. Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping, mopping floors; removing trash and other materials for recycling; dusting furniture or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; replenishing restroom supplies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Cleans offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, escalators, break room, library, kitchenette, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas. Sweep floors using brooms, and mops. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner. Dust furniture and equipment. Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes door panels and sills. Empties wastebaskets. Transports trash to the disposal area and recycle it to designated areas. Replenishes restroom supplies. Responsible for producing quality work. Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities. Physical stamina and abilities to perform tasks such as cleaning, lifting heavy objects, and being on their feet for extended periods. Detail-oriented to ensure that all areas of the building are clean, safe, and well-maintained Completes and maintains all required training. Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Education (Skills and Abilities): High School diploma/GED or 6 months of previous custodial work experience. Ability to carry out simple but detailed instructions. Must be able to communicate clearly and cogently with a variety of individuals, including employees and individuals of all levels, management, contractors, and vendors. Must possess a positive team member attitude. Ability to demonstrate solid consultative skills. Successfully pass criminal background check and drug screening. Other Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and able to travel to and from sites as necessary for work. Ability to demonstrate solid consultative skills.
