Session Overview

Creating a meaningful day involves understanding each

individual’s unique skills, interests, and support needs. It also requires

effective planning, community partnerships, and resource alignment.

Participants will learn strategies and tools to support

individuals engaged in employment and community-based activities. These

strategies will be person-centered and focused on helping individuals achieve

their personal goals and aspirations.

Attendees will:

Explore the characteristics of a strong “community

connector”

Learn how to build partnerships with businesses and

volunteer organizations

Understand how these connections promote skill development,

independence, and access to employment opportunities

The session also covers strategies for designing

person-centered schedules. Participants are encouraged to share past

experiences, challenges, and successes.

Target Audience:

This training is intended for Direct Support Professionals,

Coordinators, Supervisors, and Managers delivering Meaningful Day Services.

All registrants will receive the Zoom webinar link and

handouts one week prior to the training session.

Facilitators

Kevin Walker

With over 30 years at Penn-Mar Human Services, Kevin has

held roles in direct support, management, and administration. He is the

Director of Business Development and a leader of the Employment 1st initiative

since 2009. Kevin is a Certified Workforce Incentives Practitioner, a certified

ACRE trainer, and a curriculum reviewer for ACRE. He serves as a Subject Matter

Expert for the U.S. Department of Labor on the NEON project and has consulted

with providers across several states.

Tricia Zeltwanger

Employed by Penn-Mar Human Services since 1991, Tricia has

served as a DSP, Contract Manager, and Job Developer. She now supports

Penn-Mar’s consulting division. Tricia is a certified ACRE trainer, a Certified

Employment Support Professional (CESP), and holds certification for the

Discovery process. She is a strong advocate for customized employment and has a

proven track record of successful employment placements.
